Inter, a 100 million market! After Bonny, sprint for Leoni. The details

There is a world changing before Inter's eyes, as the team crosses the belly of America, from West to East. It is the Nerazzurri club itself, ultimately, that discovers itself different in front of the mirror, more courageous and determined in the (expensive) construction of a future still at the top: reaching a three-figure expense is no longer as frightening as it once was, indeed it is quickly becoming a reality. The new Inter, in fact, is youthful in its choices and, finally, willing to invest en masse before selling: it is a happy attitude that the fans were certainly not used to in recent years, a visible change of direction in this era with the Californians of Oaktree in government. So, while they remotely open the doors of their home to Ange-Yoan Bonny, who tomorrow will begin his immersion in the new Nerazzurri world, president Beppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio have not run out of ammunition and are thinking about how to remove wrinkles from the defense as well: Parma's Giovanni Leoni is the prized object of this market, but also the Nerazzurri's main objective for an aging department. In theory, there is a nest egg of 30 million already contracted to add a quality graft in front of Sommer and all the clues point to the Parma jewel weaned by Chivu, currently the favorite in the daisy of defenders that is being leafed through. If the hypothetical figure decided for Leoni is added, however, to the other expenses already made, we can better notice the change of perspective at Inter: the Nerazzurri club has in fact invested 70 million, even before arriving in July. In short, the legendary quota 100 is clearly visible in the crosshairs.

On this World Cup journey, Inter has already crossed many parts of America, from the lush West Coast passing through Seattle, devoted to music and technology, up to here, Charlotte, North Carolina, the second financial center of all the States. Along the way, they showed off the two jewels they had already acquired – so far, Petar Sucic has caught the eye more than Luis Henrique, even if the Brazilian just needs time and training –, but now they hope to be able to immediately book a plane ticket to the United States for Ange-Yoan Bonny, now an Interista in pectore. The new defender, on the other hand, is a longer and more complicated affair: it will take time and patience, also because Parma has no intention of selling their talent, knowing full well that in at least a year he could be worth double the millions.

In any case, in this small great revolution, Inter started well in advance, when in January they beat the Bianconeri competition during the blitz in Zagreb: how well spent the 14 million for Sucic was seemed quite clear in these first three American outings. While waiting for Luis Henrique to prove he is worth the 23 million spent on him, the 6.5 redemption of Nicola Zalewski, a precious all-rounder, must be added to the count. The last 24 to be put in the pot now for Bonny raise the total to 67.5: the only thing missing is the 2 in bonuses each included in the contracts of the French striker and the Brazilian winger.

The time for transfers will also come, it's in the nature of things and it doesn't just depend on the thorny Calhanoglu case that still needs to be resolved: for Bisseck, for example, the Nerazzurri would gladly discuss offers between 30 and 40 million, while another ten could be worth the transfer of Aleksandar Stankovic to Bruges. At the same time, however, Inter is spending, without the old hesitations. For example, it has really got it into its head to increase its Italianness and youth thanks to Parma's defensive star. The possibility of leaving Leoni on loan for a year at the Tardini is not excluded in the negotiations, indeed it is a hypothesis to follow to avoid Emilia, smelling the deal, shooting too high, all the way to the sky: Inter may have decided to be a century-old, in the sense of millions put on the market, but it cannot go too far beyond that.
