Intesa Sanpaolo's social accounts: €800 million invested from 2022

Intesa Sanpaolo's Food and Shelter for People in Need project implemented €60.3 million in interventions between 2022 and the first half of 2025, exceeding by 20% the €50 million target set for the entire Business Plan, which ends at the end of 2025. The results include 49.1 million meals distributed, 4.3 million beds in social shelters, and the distribution of 6.3 million medicines and 621,000 items of clothing.
These are some of the numbers emerging from Intesa Sanpaolo's 2025 Half-Year Social Report. In the first six months of the year, the bank consolidated the results of its social commitment, already exceeding several targets in its 2022-2025 Business Plan and confirming its leading role in impact banking . The group led by Carlo Messina has one of the most comprehensive programs for addressing people's needs and reducing inequality in the country.

Intesa Sanpaolo's social and cultural commitment is part of its ESG plan, supported by a total contribution of approximately €1.5 billion by 2027 and by approximately a thousand people dedicated to social and environmental sustainability initiatives. €0.8 billion has already been invested between 2023 and the first half of 2025 .

On the social lending front, the bank has disbursed 23.4 billion euros since 2022 (94% of the 25 billion target), confirming its strong focus on financial inclusion.
In the first half of 2025, 3 billion euros were disbursed, including 143 million for credit to the third sector and 53 million through the Fund for Impact to support individuals and families in vulnerable situations.
The employability program "Youth and Work," which aims to train and introduce young people to the labor market, received over 2,200 applications in the first half of 2025, with 480 young people trained or in training . Since 2019, it has involved over 5,350 people and more than 2,480 partner companies. Other initiatives to bring students and the unemployed closer to the world of work include Generation4Universities and Digital Restart .
Educational inclusion initiatives in the first half of 2025 involved 2,600 schools and 18,000 students, supporting merit and social mobility. Over 6,400 schools have been involved since 2022.
Futura , an initiative promoted by Save the Children , Forum disuguaglianze e diversa and Yolk , in collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo, has created growth and autonomy paths for 350 girls and young women, including 50 young mothers.
Intesa Sanpaolo confirms its position as one of Europe's leading cultural players, with an artistic heritage of 40,000 works. The bank's four museums, the Gallerie d'Italia in Milan, Naples, Turin, and Vicenza, welcomed 420,000 visitors in the first half of 2025, including 77,000 children and young people in its educational program and 4,900 people with disabilities in its 380 dedicated tours.
Partnerships with leading Italian and international cultural institutions have resulted in the loan of 187 works to 39 exhibitions in Italy and abroad. Since 2022, the group's museums have welcomed 2.3 million visitors.
