Palermo, a good start: Reggiana defeated 2-1 at the Barbera

Palermo kicked off their season in style, defeating Reggiana 2-1 at the Renzo Barbera Stadium in front of over 30,000 fans. A deserved victory, the result of character, organization, and quality.
The match heated up early: Brunori found the net in the eighth minute, but VAR ruled Pierozzi offside. The Rosanero pressed on, and in the 38th minute, Pohjanpalo broke the deadlock with a precise header that put the home side ahead. In the second half, in the 63rd minute, Reggiana equalized through Tavsan, aided by a deflection that fooled Bardi. But Palermo responded immediately: less than a minute later, Segre provided a perfect assist for Pierozzi, who scored with a right-footed shot to make it 2-1.
In the final minutes, Inzaghi's team managed the game intelligently and came close to a third through goals from Segre and Brunori, but still managed a valuable victory that sent a message to the league: Palermo is here and wants to play a leading role.
