Salernitana, Tascone: White smoke after Siracusa

The summer's buzz has finally come to a close: Mattia Tascone will be a new Salernitana player , barring any dramatic developments. The long negotiations that have kept the Granata fans on tenterhooks will be finalized immediately after the first league match against Siracusa, scheduled for Monday, August 25th at the Arechi stadium.
After weeks of discussions, the two clubs reached an agreement. Audace Cerignola reduced the initial €100,000 asking price to €80,000, a figure Salernitana has reached in the last few hours. The midfielder's commitment was crucial, as he was determined from the start to wear the Granata jersey.
Tascone will sign a two-year contract with an option, giving up any alternative in order to reunite with his mentor, coach Giuseppe Raffaele.
Yesterday, coach Raffaele led a session that included an athletic warm-up phase, followed by technical and tactical drills. The training session concluded with a small-sided match. Preparations will continue today at 5:30 PM.
Sporting director Faggiano isn't stopping at Tascone. Linas Megelaitis , born in 1998 and formerly of Rimini, remains a hot prospect, also being pursued by Ascoli and Union Brescia.
On the offensive front, the Granata sporting director is working to strengthen the department. The options for Castelli from Entella and Flavio Bianchi , a striker released following Brescia's relegation, remain open.
Corrections are also expected in defense. Cosenza's Dalle Mura is popular, interest in Caporale remains alive, while the green light has already been given for the arrival of Ettore Quirini , right-back from Milan Futuro.
Salernitana's transfer market also depends on transfers. Yesterday, goalkeeper Luigi Sepe's departure was made official, with his contract terminated by mutual consent after 55 appearances in two different spells with the Granata.
The club thanked the goalkeeper with an official statement:
The club thanks the goalkeeper for his commitment and professionalism over the years, including wearing the captain's armband. Sepe wishes him all the best for his personal and professional future.
Polish player Legowsky could also leave soon: he has received several offers from Germany, but the player seems attracted by the possibility of joining Pafos to play in the Champions League.
The positions of Daniliuc, Maggiore and Tongya remain in the balance, waiting for the right transfer market combinations.
Meanwhile, Matteo Lovato , who moved to Empoli in recent days, said goodbye to Salernitana with words of great correctness:
«I worked every day even though I knew I was leaving, but I always trained out of respect for the club I played for».
