San Severo, the Red Cross still has no headquarters: Masucci attacks the Colangelo administration.

Five months after the question was presented to the City Council, the Italian Red Cross in San Severo is still without an operational headquarters. The complaint comes from city councilor Angelo Masucci , president of the Control and Guarantee Commission and leader of the Mixed Group, who points the finger at the municipal government led by Mayor Lidya Colangelo .
From eviction to forced relocation to TorremaggioreAccording to Masucci, the stalemate began with the "sudden eviction" ordered at the beginning of the current administration's term. Since then, the San Severo Red Cross volunteers have been forced to operate from Torremaggiore, with inevitable disruption to the service. "At the Festa del Soccorso," the councilor recalls, "the briefings were held in the middle of the street. During the fire in Marina di Chieuti, the workers had to drive to Torremaggiore to pick up the ambulance before returning to San Severo. In an emergency, time is precious."
Heat emergency and 1520 service at riskAs the mid-August holiday approaches, Masucci warns of a further problem: the risk of blocking the 1520 toll-free number, which is available 24/7 to provide assistance and guidance to vulnerable residents, especially the elderly, during heatwaves. "Without a location," he emphasizes, "this service also won't be able to function in the city."
The Prefect's intervention is readyThe councilor announced his intention to involve the Prefect of Foggia to seek a solution: "It's unthinkable that a city of nearly 50,000 inhabitants, a candidate for the leadership of the Alto Tavoliere, should suffer continued decline due to an inadequate administration incapable of resolving any problems."
Councilor Carmine Esposto's response“I acknowledge Councilor Masucci's statements, but I believe it is appropriate to bring the discussion back to a level of truth and concreteness. The topic of the Red Cross headquarters in San Severo is a key topic for the administration and is the subject of ongoing discussions with the association's local leaders and the relevant offices. A location has already been identified and proposed, but the Red Cross has deemed it unsuitable,” said Councilor Carmine Esposto.
"There is no 'emergency' that has been ignored: essential assistance and emergency services are fully guaranteed, and the procedures to identify a suitable location are underway, with timeframes and methods compatible with regulations and available resources. Raising alarmism in the middle of August, insinuating that the city lacks a fundamental safety and health facility, is only fueling tension and concerns that are not supported by the facts."
"We work with seriousness and responsibility, without proclamations," he concludes, "convinced that concrete results come from dialogue and collaboration, not controversy. This matter too will reach a useful and shared solution, in the best interests of the community."
