Tariffs kick in, Trump: Billions will now flow into the US

They came into force on midnight Washington time (6am today in Italy) the new US tariffs on products from dozens of the world's economies, outlining the new trade order advocated by the president American Donald Trump. "Billions of dollars, mostly from countries that they profited from the United States with enthusiasm, will begin to flow into the US," Trump declared on his social Truth a few minutes before the deadline. These tariffs replace, for the economies concerned, the 10% tariffs applied since April on practically all products entering the United States. According to the president American the goal is to rebalance trade between the US and its partners, who he says "benefit" from the the world's leading economic power. The tariffs imposed today fall within a broad range, between 15% and 41%. The EU, Japan and South Korea, which are among the main trading partners of the US, are now subject to a rate of at least 15%.
