Trains have resumed service on the Rome-Pisa line after yesterday's fire.

Trains have resumed service on the Rome-Pisa line after yesterday's fire.

"Train traffic has returned to normal since 2:40 a.m. on the Rome-Pisa line following a fire near the tracks between Grosseto and Alberese," according to an update published on the RFI-Rete Ferroviaria Italiana website.

"Effects on rail mobility: High-speed and regional trains have experienced delays of up to 90 minutes, and intercity trains of up to 120 minutes. Some trains have been limited," the statement adds.

Yesterday, a hotel on the southern outskirts of Grosseto was evacuated as a precaution due to a fire that broke out near the train tracks between the Maremma capital and the Alberese station on the Tirrenica line to Rome. The hotel and several homes were threatened by the flames, hence the evacuation.
