Visibilia Case, Daniela Santanché in the Chamber: "I will reflect on resignation"

Tourism Minister Daniela Santanché spoke in the Chamber for the vote on the motion of no confidence in her, presented by the M5s and also supported by the Pd and Avs. Santanché, in fact, was sent to trial for false accounting for the Visibilia case and is accused of fraud against INPS in relation to the redundancy payments paid to the company's employees during Covid, without their knowledge.
"There will be another preliminary hearing soon and on that occasion it is right that I reflect to evaluate my resignation, but I will do it alone, with myself, without any constraint or coercion, guided only by respect for the Prime Minister and for my party, for which I never want to become a burden but remain a resource", said Santanché defending himself and therefore hypothesizing the possibility of submitting his resignation from the role of minister.
"The media pillory is a life sentence that never goes away, a media life sentence, never ending sentence", underlined the minister who explained in her opening remarks that this is the second time she finds herself having to respond "to a motion of no confidence in me even if it concerns facts to be ascertained prior to my swearing-in".
