Confindustria Udine and trade unions converge on training, safety, and innovation

Local development, including the well-being of workers and the growth of businesses, was the focus of the meeting held at Palazzo Torriani between Luigino Pozzo, President of Confindustria Udine, and Michele Nencioni, General Manager, and Eva Pividori, Head of the Union Area. Local secretaries Emiliano Giareghi (CGIL Udine), Giorgio Lazzarini (CISL Udine), Fabiano Venuti (CISL Alto Friuli), and Luigi Oddo (UIL Udine) met with them.
During the cordial discussion, the main topics discussed were training, with the technological training gap that needs to be filled compared to East Asian countries, especially China; a culture of innovation that needs to be encouraged; workplace safety, with the need to identify new solutions, including technological and innovative ones, to reduce the still-too-high number of workplace accidents; and the region's attractiveness, with the emphasis on creating the conditions so that talent "fleeing" abroad can one day return home. On all these issues, there was broad agreement between Confindustria Udine and the trade unions.
Not only that, Pozzo also wanted to involve the unions in the social housing project aimed at bringing new workers into Friuli's industrial fabric, given the chronic shortage of skilled workers, encouraging their full integration into the local community.
Finally, Confindustria Udine and the unions also focused on the salary structure, work culture, and social welfare.
This first constructive meeting between President Pozzo and the unions will be followed by others aimed at opening a new page in industrial relations.
