Heading into the Tuscan regional elections, the green light has been given to Giani's second term.

Florence, August 7, 2025 – The announcement was made at 9:49 PM. The final green light has arrived for the re-election of outgoing Tuscany governor Eugenio Giani . The announcement was made by Emiliano Fossi, regional secretary of the Democratic Party, to much applause at the end of a lengthy meeting at the Democratic Party headquarters on Via Forlanini in Novoli. Tuscan members attended the meeting (many of whom were connected online).

The meeting began around 9:30 PM, opening with a speech by Deputy Fossi. Upon the acclamation, Giani's first gesture was a double handshake with Fossi, to the applause of the members of the meeting.

"With emotion and responsibility," the governor declared, "I accept the proposal of the Democratic Party of Tuscany to run for a second term as President of the Tuscany Region. In recent years, we have faced enormous challenges : the pandemic, environmental emergencies, the economic crisis. But we have done it together, with determination, courage, and vision. We have sown a lot, and the fruits are beginning to be seen. Tuscany is stronger, fairer, more sustainable. We have invested in public healthcare, schools, jobs, culture, the ecological transition, the widespread Tuscany, and infrastructure, without ever forgetting any community or territory. My commitment continues, with the same passion as on day one. Because governing has never been an individual act, but a collective project, made of listening, participation, and a future.
