Management and naming of the PalaCarnera are being debated in the Udine city council.

The Udine city council will discuss this afternoon the De Toni administration's resolution to put the management of the Palasport Carnera stadium out to tender, with the option of associating the facility's name with that of a sponsor. The very idea that the Friulian boxer's name could be overshadowed by that of a potential commercial partner has sparked discussion among both the majority and the opposition. The resolution, which is expected to be discussed in today's session, scheduled for 4:00 p.m., was presented by City Councilor for Sport Chiara Dazzan, who explained that until now, the facility has been managed directly by the Municipality, with APU acting as the sole concessionaire for temporary use. With the promotion to A1, new sporting and organizational needs have emerged, including naming rights. The concession, which will last two years, has been set at €5.2 million. This is pending the start of the €20 million project financing for PalaCarnera 4.0.
Among the topics at the center of this afternoon's Udine City Council meeting are a new budget amendment approved by the council and an amendment to the bylaws of neighborhood councils. Also on the agenda is an amendment presented by Stefano Salmè regarding the naming of the PalaCarnera stadium, as well as several motions: one by Francesca Laudicina (Lega) calling for a suspension of Councilor Ivano Marchiol's traffic improvements; one by Antonio Pittioni (Fratelli d'Italia) regarding the implementation of the "Daspo urbano" (urban banishment order). Also on the agenda is a question presented by Gianni Croatto (Fratelli d'Italia) regarding Largo del Pecile, and a question by Loris Michelini (Identità Civica) regarding the organization of the last dinner in white.
