Schlein: "Meloni should explain to Parliament who is responsible for the Almasri case."

"For once Giorgia Meloni is right: it is unthinkable that three of her ministers decided to free a Libyan torturer and bring him home on a state flight, without her sharing this choice." Democratic Party leader Elly Schlein said this to Tg3 regarding the Almasri case .
The Democratic Party secretary continued: "Since you said you want to come to Parliament, let's come and explain to the country the political responsibility you've assumed . As for the judicial responsibility, let's leave the judiciary to work."
Even the president of the Five Star Movement, Giuseppe Conte , attacked the prime minister: "Meloni, are you bragging about the Almasri case? But the Almasri case should make you ashamed. You gave him a state flight to repatriate him, and you're bragging about it? It's a disgrace." And he added: "On the Almasri case, Meloni surprised me because she took advantage of it to attack me. How dare you?"
Even the Avs representative and leader of the Greens, Angelo Bonelli , criticized the government: “Meloni and Nordio have freed a criminal who has an arrest warrant outstanding from the International Criminal Court: no propaganda can erase this stain on Italy's credibility and on respect for international justice.”
