There's the Giani-Fossi confrontation. Or rather, a short circuit. The misunderstanding of the flyers.

The flyer announcing Giani's participation in the Democratic Party party in Riotorto.
Florence, July 20, 2025 – The meeting between Tuscan Democratic Party secretary Emiliano Fossi and governor Eugenio Giani , scheduled for the PD party in Bonascola (Carrara), has been called off, and Democratic Party chatter is heating up again after the heated days of Giani's candidacy via certified email (PEC) and the subsequent peace signed in a lengthy meeting with Democratic Party secretary Elly Schlein. "Crazy stuff," "Fossi alone on stage," "Giani went to Piombino after having dinner here"—text messages and alleged new tensions—perhaps some even thought the whole thing needed to be redone. And even with a week of 40-degree heat on the horizon.
So what? Instead, it seems the mystery is due to some overzealous organizer of the festival in the province of Carrara who included Giani on the poster despite the fact that it had been known for some time —the governor, according to the organizers—that he would not be able to make the 9 p.m. meeting because he was simultaneously busy in Riotorto (Piombino), on stage with the mayors of the Etruscan valleys.
Even there at 9pm. And it's true that it may be 'It's almost magic Giani', but being in two places at the same time, his staff points out, he can't do it (yet?).
"I spent an hour and a half at dinner with Secretary Fossi, we talked, and everything is going great with him, " Giani assures. "I went to the PD party in Bonascola at 7:30 PM, as I'd announced, but I'd also said I'd be expected in Piombino at 9 PM for a long-agreed debate. Was I supposed to be at the debate on the Bonascola poster? It's a mistake." So, all cleared up. With one certainty: when the PD is involved, we're never bored.
