In March 2025, 44 million and 558 thousand unique users surfed the net, on average each for a total of over 75 hours and 13 minutes. This was reported by Agcom. in the Communications Observatory, updated to the first quarter 2025, analyzing the usage data of the main online platforms. The top positions in the ranking are confirmed by the group of websites and applications that reference the big players international (Alphabet/Google, Meta/Facebook/Instagram, Amazon, Microsoft), followed by the platforms owned by some national publishing groups and operators (Gedi Group editorial, Cairo Communication/Rcs Mediagroup, Poste Italiane, Fininvest/Mondadori). Regarding information sites and applications generalist, last March 37 million were registered and 462 thousand unique users, with a contraction of 0.1% (-25 thousand visitors) compared to March 2024. Specifically, with approximately 31 million and 581 thousand unique users, that of "Repubblica" is the site (and related applications) was found to be the most frequented (+11.8% compared to the traffic reached in March 2024), followed by "Corriere della Sera" (28 million 890 thousand users, -1.4%) and "Messaggero" (21 million 783 thousand Internet users, +3.4%). The analysis of online e-commerce platforms highlights, with 38 million 661 thousand unique users registered as of March 2025, an increase of 207 thousand visitors compared to the same month of 2024. In detail, the top positions are occupied by the sites and Amazon-owned e-commerce applications, with 35 million and 589 thousand unique users (down 1.2% compared to in March 2024), followed by Temu (PDD Holding) with 20 million and 435 thousand users (+63%) and from eBay which obtains 15 million and 953 thousand visitors (-10.5%). As for social networks, the top positions are occupied by platforms attributable to the Meta group: Facebook with 35 million 952 thousand users, records a contraction of 1.9% compared to the values of March 2024 and Instagram with 32 million and 932 thousand visitors, on the other hand, is a growth of 0.5% on annual basis. Also TikTok (Bytedance Group) with 23 million and 145 thousand visitors recorded in comparison with March 2024 growth (+4.3%). For LinkedIn, Pinterest and X (formerly Twitter) they find negative dynamics (respectively, of the -1.4%; -11.1% and -27.2%) if we consider unique users reached in March 2024. As regards the trend of unique users platforms offering video-on-demand (VOD) services exclusively paid, last March, with over 15 millions of unique surfers, a contraction is observed compared to the visitors reached in March 2024 (-307 thousand Internet users, -2%). On average, in the first quarter of 2025, Netflix, with 8.3 million unique users, records a substantial stability compared to the average visitors recorded in same period in 2024 (+0.1%). Amazon Prime Video follows whose sites and applications were consulted by 7.3 million people average visitors (up 5.2% on average users of first three months of 2024), Disney+ reaching 3.7 million Internet users (-4.6%), Dazn visited by 2.2 million unique users (down 11.8%) and, finally, Now (Sky), with visitors average uniques equal to 1.4 million (-5.8%). The overall browsing time on the main websites video streaming services that offer exclusively paid services, as of March 2025, it is over 41 million hours, growing if compared to March 2024 (+9.5%). Among the video on-line platforms free demand, the most visited in terms of average monthly unique users were found on News Mediaset Sites RaiPlay reaches 20.4 million visitors; RaiPlay reaches 10.1 million millions of subjects and Sky TG24 which records 8 million users.
