Etna, lava flow interrupted by new effusive vent

The National Institute of Geophysics and volcanology, Etna observatory, in a note communicates that "in following the field surveys carried out in the morning, the flow lava is no longer fed" after the opening of a new one yesterday effusive mouth on Etna. "This activity was already in sharp decline in the late evening yesterday - explains the note - Strombolian activity continues at South East crater with ballistic missiles falling inside the crater rim and this activity is accompanied from a discontinuous emission of ash that disperses quickly in the summit area. The volcanic tremor has maintained within the range of average values and the locations of the sources are found in an area between the North crater East and the Voragine crater at an altitude of about 2800 meters. In over the last few hours, data from the monitoring networks ground deformations showed no variations significant".
