In the heart of Molise there is the 'town of bitcoin'

It has about 1800 inhabitants and about thirty commercial activities, all of which have been accepting payments via Bitcoin for about a week. It is Fornelli, in the heart of Molise, in the province of Isernia, which is about twenty minutes away. Member of the National Association of Oil Cities and for some years also one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in Italy", Fornelli hosts the first monument in Italy dedicated to the founder of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, with the ambition of becoming the "town of bitcoins".
It all started with an idea by crypto-artist Mattia Pannoni, a true Fornellese. "An idea of mine shared with the mayor, Giovanni Tedeschi - Pannoni told ANSA - In addition to being a crypto-artist, I am a bitcoiner and I wanted this technology to reach as many people as possible". In Italy, Rovereto (Trento) has also embraced Bitcoin technology, but "Fornelli - Pannoni points out - has the highest adoption rate in the world in relation to the number of inhabitants". The monument, inaugurated a week ago, is a stainless steel statue, installed at the belvedere. If you look at it from the front, it seems to disappear: "An effect that I wanted to create - explains the artist - because Satoshi disappeared into thin air, many years ago, and no one knows his identity". Tourists from Spain and Switzerland have already arrived on the hills of Molise to visit this village and pay in bitcoin. "It's already an important response - comments Pannoni - Fornelli's social media channels have had millions of views in the last few days".
