Nothing Phone 3 is official: design, release date, price and technical specifications

“Technology has become monotonous: smartphones all look the same and offer the same experience,” said Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing. And so the Nothing Phone (3), the first flagship from the Chinese-British company, is a significant evolution in design and functionality compared to previous models. But it is also anything but boring.
Meanwhile, for the modular design characterized by a three-column layout, which gives rhythm and structure to the device. The device is made with a brushed aluminum body and offers IP68 certification for resistance to water and dust. Standard dimensions and weight for the category: 160.6 x 75.59 x 8.99 mm and 218 grams.

The most significant innovation of the new Nothing smartphone is on the back: the Glyph Matrix interface, which replaces that of previous models. It consists of a grid of 489 individually managed micro-LEDs that make notifications more immediate and reduce the time spent in front of the screen. Thanks to the density of the LEDs, Phone (3) displays progress indicators in real time, offers live previews for selfies and integrates a wide range of functions such as a digital clock, stopwatch, battery indicator and even mini-games developed in collaboration with the community. Caller ID will also be available soon: by holding down the Glyph Button during a call, the name or number of the contact will appear.

On the front, the 6.67-inch AMOLED display of the Phone (3) offers 1.5K resolution (1260×2800 pixels) and a density of 460 ppi, with peak brightness of up to 4500 nits in HDR and 1600 nits in HMB mode. The adaptive refresh rate ranges between 30 and 120 Hz, touch sampling reaches 1000 Hz. Thanks to PWM dimming at 2160 Hz, the panel is comfortable for the eye in any lighting condition, and there is also support for 10-bit HDR10+.
Under the hood, a 4nm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor from TSMC. While it doesn't quite reach the levels of the Elite model, compared to the Phone (2) it guarantees a 36% increase in CPU performance, 88% in graphics tasks, 60% in AI management and 125% in image recognition speed. The configuration with 3.2 GHz Cortex-X4 cores and seven Cortex-A720 cores ensures a smooth, responsive experience that's ideal for gaming and productivity.

The photographic compartment of Phone (3) is made up of four 50 MP sensors: the main 1/1.3" with f/1.68 aperture and optical stabilization, an ultra-wide with optical stabilization, a periscope telephoto lens with 3× optical zoom at 70 mm and the front camera, also 50 MP. All the lenses support 4K video recording at 60 fps with OIS, while the photographic presets developed with professionals in the sector allow you to obtain cinematic looks without advanced skills.
Battery and chargingWith a 5150mAh carbon-silicon battery, Phone (3) provides more than a day of heavy use. 65W fast wired charging allows you to complete a charge in just 54 minutes, while wireless charging support goes up to 15W.
