RemTech Expo 2025: From Human Problem to Environmental Solution

The nineteenth edition of RemTech Expo stands out for its cultural transformation. Scheduled at Ferrara Expo from September 17 to 19, 2025, the event places humanity at the center of its mission, no longer as passive consumers, but as "conscious agents of change." The title itself, " Innovation and Environmental Pragmatism: Humanity from Problem to Part of the Solution ," encapsulates the intention to build a new pact between humanity, the local area, and technology, where expertise and vision converge in a systemic approach.
Alessandro Morelli, Undersecretary of State with responsibility for CIPESS , opened the press conference in the Senate by underlining the importance of an approach that combines " environmental sustainability, safety and competitiveness ". Morelli highlighted how the centrality of humanity also translates into the ability to make "courageous technological choices that can no longer be postponed," citing in particular next-generation nuclear power as a "fundamental frontier for ensuring clean, stable, and accessible energy."

This pragmatic vision was shared by Vannia Gava, Deputy Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, who highlighted the Ministry's commitment to land redevelopment . " We have allocated over €500 million to orphan sites, obtained €280 million from the FSC for SIN (Single Sites of Interest), and introduced simplified regulations to speed up remediation ," Gava stated, adding that innovation and technology allow us to " transform waste into resources ."
The voice of the regions was represented by Marco Fioravanti, President of the ANCI Council, and Manuela Rontini, Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Emilia-Romagna Region. Fioravanti emphasized the importance of RemTech as an opportunity to " network, exchange tools and visions ," while Rontini described her region's post-flood approach , which has chosen to invest in " structural prevention, digitalization of environmental data, and training ," defining reconstruction as not only material, but also "cultural."
The emblematic case of Taranto was also addressed by Vito Felice Uricchio, Special Commissioner for the area, who defined the Apulian city as an "opportunity" for regeneration for the entire country, provided it builds a "new alliance with citizens, who must feel an active part of this process."
Andrea Moretti, President of Ferrara Expo, reiterated the event's evolution : " Remtech is evolving... we have acquired a profound awareness and responsibility: that of translating our vast wealth of knowledge and ongoing dialogue... into concrete solutions ." Closing the discussion, Silvia Paparella, General Manager of RemTech Expo, recalled a key concept: "Innovation, yes... But always with a human perspective. Sustainability is not an algorithm: it is a daily, political, collective choice."
RemTech Expo 2025 will be divided into ten thematic areas, from the remediation of contaminated sites to energy and waste reuse, maintaining a single, powerful intuition at its core: the intelligence of people, the responsibility of institutions, and the will of businesses are essential to building a sustainable future.
