Afternoon emergencies change: these are the specialty centers that will take over the service

Changes in continuing care in the city of Zaragoza are beginning to take shape. The Department of Health is committed to resuming the proposal to unify this service in the four specialist centres distributed across the three health sectors.
What is the planned organization for afternoon and weekend emergencies in primary care for residents of Zaragoza? The Government of Aragon's idea is to bring the Continuous Care Points (PAC) to the Specialty Medical Centers (CME) , where what is now called urgent primary care demand (DUAP) will be provided.
This measure will extend the hours of healthcare for citizens (by four hours a day), improve accessibility and allow for greater resolution, as diagnostic imaging tests and blood tests can be carried out in these centres. The Minister of Health, José Luis Bancalera, lists other benefits that this change will bring, such as better organisation and more order for the user.
The plan proposes that urgent demand for primary care be met at the Ramón y Cajal and Pablo Remacha specialty medical centers (for users living in the health areas of Sector Zaragoza II ); Grande Covián, for Sector I ; and Inocencio Jiménez, for Sector III .
In this way, users of Sector Zaragoza II, which is the one that has the Miguel Servet Hospital as a reference, currently have two Continuous Care Points ( Fuentes Norte and Sagasta ) and two others will be maintained (Ramón y Cajal and Pablo Remacha). Those of Sector III (who have the Hospital Clínico as a reference) will have the care point from the Bombarda health centre to the CME Inocencio Jiménez, and in Sector I this care will be organised at the CME Grande Covián.
