Americanists outraged by revelation that Chespirito didn't support América

Nido Herido, CDMX.– The Americanista fans are going through an unprecedented existential crisis after the shocking revelation—made in the series Sin Querer Queriendo —that Roberto Gómez Bolaños, alias Chespirito, was actually rooting for Chivas.

The news hit like a bucket of cold water with preseason ice. For years, thousands of Club América fans had embraced El Chanfle as their unofficial hero, a humble water carrier who dreamed of wearing the Águilas jersey… only to discover that his creator would have preferred to play at Akron Stadium.

THE CHANFLE EM “SEM WANTING WANTING”

They believed that Chespirito was their symbol

They betrayed us. I had the original VHS! I even watched it before every Clásico Nacional to motivate myself,” declared one fan, sobbing as he burned a Don Ramón doll in a misguided protest.

On social media, the protests were immediate. With hashtags like #ChanfleTraidor, #ChivaEncubierta, and #YoViEsaPelículaConFe, thousands of Americanistas demanded a public apology from the Gómez Bolaños family, the Guadalajara Club, and even Florinda Meza, "just in case."

And to think that we use the “Chanfle Titles” argument all the time 🤣

We always believed that Chespirito was more Americanist than Azcárraga himself.

For its part, América issued a brief statement stating that El Chanfle "is a work of fiction that transcends colors," but that out of respect for the character's legacy, they will review whether it is necessary to remove him from the Azulcrema Hall of Fame... or at least move him to the back.

“Now they just have to say that Chayanne's 'Fiesta en América' wasn't meant as an anthem for our team, because now we'd have nothing left... except the wallet I just stole ,” another Águilas fan expressed.

And just to be up to date: now it was a mayor of Oaxaca who was caught cheating in the middle of a public event.
