The head of the department, Eliud Aguirre Vázquez , reported that health authorities have implemented follow-up actions for infected people and their contacts, as well as preventive measures in the state's eight health jurisdictions, following instructions from Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas .
Among the strategies implemented are vaccinations for groups considered at risk, strengthening information campaigns, and epidemiological surveillance in elementary schools and daycare centers, with the goal of detecting potential cases and preventing outbreaks.
The Ministry of Health reiterated that the MMR vaccine—which protects against measles, rubella, and mumps—is available free of charge at health centers, general hospitals, and IMSS and ISSSTE medical units. Aguirre Vázquez urged parents to complete their vaccination schedules, especially for minors.
Iván Alejandro Moscoso González, Undersecretary of Disease Prevention and Control, stated that the cases present common symptoms such as fever, rash, cough, and general malaise , and are under clinical monitoring by specialists.
