Cultural journalist Huemanzin Rodríguez died at the age of 51.

Documentary filmmaker and cultural journalist Huemanzin Iyolocuauhtli Rodríguez died Wednesday night in Rygge, Norway, where he had lived since 2002, due to cancer.
His death was confirmed on his Facebook page. Accompanied by a portrait of him, a quote from Ricardo Reis , Fernando Pessoa 's pseudonym, was posted, which reads:
"So quickly everything that happens passes! So young does he die before the gods as he dies! Everything is so little! Nothing is known, everything is imagined. Surround yourself with roses, love, drink, and be silent. The rest is nothing ."

Channel 22, the public space where he worked for nearly 20 years, also paid him farewell on social media, echoing Pessoa's maxim: "It is with profound sadness that we bid you farewell and are grateful for what you did for Mexican culture and for this channel. Rest in peace, Huemanzin Rodríguez. Your legacy will live on."
Rodríguez was also an actor, voiceover artist, and director. Given his experience, he has worked in countries such as Germany , Canada , Colombia , and China , to name a few. He has also served on film festival juries in Spain and Mexico.
As a writer, he collaborated on the books Memories of the Second Hispano-American Soliloquy of Cultural Journalism, Particles of Light: 15 Years of the Guanajuato Film Festival , and Visions of the Same Stage: 40 Years of the International Cervantino Festival . In the latter, he recounts his arrival at Channel 22 and the first story he covered at the Cervantino in 1996.
Huemanzin Rodríguez firedOnce the news of her death broke, just one day after the passing of Mariana Gándara , once a beacon of Mexican culture, friends and colleagues of Huemanzin Rodríguez expressed their condolences and farewells.
Documentary filmmaker Everardo González wrote: " What sad news for those of us who were fortunate enough to know you, dear Huemanzin . Thank you for the talks, the interviews, and all the good vibes you always had with me ."

For his part, host Ezra Alcázar said: " Huemanzin Rodríguez , the best cultural journalist on Mexican television, has left us . And although he left a mark, the public media and audiences have lost a fundamental part of our reporting."
Institutions and other names such as Cultura UNAM, the UNAM Film Library, the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences (AMACC), the National Film Library, the Guadalajara International Book Fair, DocsMX, among others, also dedicated their farewell words to Huemanzin Rodríguez .
