Explosion sets Waldo's store ablaze, causing injuries and deaths in Hermosillo, Sonora

On the afternoon of Saturday, November 1, an explosion shook the heart of the state capital when, apparently, a vehicle exploded in front of a Waldo's chain store, causing a fire inside the establishment with several people injured and dead.
Unofficially, it has been reported that more than 10 people have died, including three minors.
The fire started at the entrance of the premises and customers of the business located on Doctor Noriega Street, between Matamoros and Juárez, sought refuge inside the premises, becoming trapped by the flames.

The incident occurred around 2:00 p.m. when a violent explosion shook the heart of Hermosillo. Security authorities and emergency services immediately arrived at the scene to respond to the emergency.
Following the explosion, nearby businesses chose to close their doors due to the risk of further damage.
Hermosillo firefighters , municipal police officers, and Civil Protection personnel quickly mobilized to extinguish the flames, while rescue units attended to the injured at the scene.
In a statement, Civil Protection called on the public to avoid the disaster area and allow emergency vehicles to pass.
Authorities asked citizens to facilitate access for rescue teams and ensure that the cordoned-off perimeter remained clear.
SERIOUS INJURIES AND TRANSFER TO HOSPITALS
According to initial reports, several people were seriously injured with burns.
Red Cross paramedics provided care at the scene and transported the victims to the nearest hospital, the Northwest Clinic, where they received specialized medical care.
