For the first time, the Senate will have a contingent at the LGBTQ+ Pride Parade , which will take place next Saturday, June 28, in Mexico City.

During the meeting of the Senate's Gender Equality Committee , Morena Senator Alejandra Arias took advantage of her participation to invite senators to participate in the Pride march.

The senator considered it necessary for the Commission to attend the march representing "this important sector of our country."

He considered that they should work hand in hand with the community and revealed that they have been planning the senators' participation in the march for several months.

"The Senate has been seen very little on this important date, where many of us, in addition to having family members who are part of the community, are activists and deeply involved in the rights of the women and men who belong here," she said.

Senate prepares contingent for LGBTQ+ march

In this regard, the president of the Commission, Martha Lucía Micher, supported Senator Arias' proposal and suggested that the Senate's Equality and Human Rights Committees seek to create a contingent .

"Let's issue a request for a contingent, but also for support, at least some t-shirts, at least a trailer... let them lend us a trailer... let's make awesome decorations, let's go to the Jamaica market and have them decorate it beautifully... a flatbed truck, that's all we need," Senator Micher declared.

And he considered that one of the 128 senators "must have a trailer," so they will ask to borrow one to participate in the march.
