Gertz Manero clarifies to 'El Mayo' Zambada: Government has already requested his repatriation to Mexico... to Joe Biden

Message to Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada in the US from the 'morning': Alejandro Gertz Manero , Attorney General of the Republic, clarified that the Government requested his repatriation to Mexico... to the administration of Joe Biden.

The Attorney General explained that since 'El Mayo' Zambada was handed over to US authorities (in June 2024), "the Government, and therefore, the Attorney General's Office, initiated a procedure."

According to Gertz Manero, this investigation includes the possible kidnapping of 'El Mayo' Zambada and his illegal transportation to the United States.

Prosecutor Gertz Manero added that Ismael 'El Mayo' Zambada has three outstanding arrest warrants in Mexico.

"It is the Government's obligation to initiate the extradition process " and the US administration has the obligation to respond to the requests , the prosecutor said.

The official said the US State Department (now headed by Marco Rubio) acknowledged that it had already been informed of that request, this in December 2024.

Alejandro Gertz Manero stressed that the Government of Mexico requested a response to the request for the repatriation of 'El Mayo' Zambada on four occasions from the Government of Joe Bien, but received no response .

The prosecutor clarified that so far, the issue of the repatriation of 'El Mayo' Zambada has not been touched upon by the Donald Trump administration.

" The procedure to which this person refers has already been carried out and in full," he added.
