Visa cancellation

The bilateral relationship between Mexico and the United States has never been smooth. Since the campaign, Donald Trump has made accusations against our country and specifically against its leaders.
He has repeated the claims that Mexico is ruled by drug cartels time and again. On January 20th, upon assuming the Presidency of the United States of America, he turned that saying into action.
The US president, with his personal style of governing (pressure), ordered the State Department to declare drug cartels as foreign terrorist groups. And despite his declaration that his relationship with President Sheinbaum is very good and officials from both governments have held talks, the issue of the so-called narco-government has not been resolved.
Currently, the cancellation of the visas of Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila and her husband Carlos Torres, without a clear reason, has sparked controversy over Trump's remarks.
And rumors suggest there's a list of officials from different levels of government. We'll see.
Meanwhile, in addition to the visa issue, there are other cases in crisis: the surrender of the family of El Chapo 's son and his family's relocation; the screwworm, immigration, and the U.S. House of Representatives initiative to tax remittances, among many others.
The Mexico-United States relationship is fundamental for both countries. But our neighbor, Trump, isn't changing.
