Domestic workers: how much will they earn per hour and per month in March 2025 after the latest increases?

Finally, after more than four months of delay, the Government formalized - through the Official Gazette - last week the last increases for domestic workers, meaning that those employers who have not yet made the corresponding adjustments will have to make a larger outlay in March. Thus, the minimum hourly wage for the fifth category is $2,863 per hour and $351,233 per month for those who leave on the same day.
Resolution 1/2025 or ARCA (formerly AFIP) contains (in Annex 1) the new minimum amounts for each category that must be taken into account when preparing receipts.
In this way, and on February 20, the Government signed in a single resolution the last two increases (split into two each): that is, 6% between October (2.8%) and September (3.2%) . Plus, the update of 1.3% retroactive to December and 1.2% to January.
To calculate and know how much the minimum hourly and monthly wages for each category will be , the employer must take into account that the increase is cumulative . For example, for December wages, the values in effect in October must be taken as a starting point (in November there was no adjustment); and those for January will be based on the December increase. Finally, until now, those for February will be based on the January increase. And those for March will be a replica of those for the second month of the year.
In February, the National Commission of Domestic Workers was scheduled to meet again, but two days before the end of the month, the Government has not yet formalized the call, according to what Clarín learned from union sources.
Trade union representatives, employers and the national government have managed to reach an agreement for a wage increase of more than 2.6% for domestic workers.
All salaries in each category must always be added to the contributions and allowances that also suffered an increase in February.
In addition, the seniority bonus equivalent to 1% for each year worked by the domestic worker in her employment relationship, on the monthly salary, must be taken into account .
And also the additional amount that corresponds if the employee works in the so-called unfavorable areas (which is an extra 30% calculated on the minimum wages of each category) . It is for those employees in the sector who work in La Pampa, Río Negro, Chubut, Neuquén, Santa Cruz, Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and the South Atlantic Islands or in the Carmen de Patagones District.
Since February, employers must also pay 64.52% more in contributions. Those who pay monthly will have to pay it in March.
According to the weekly hours worked, and according to Resolution 5645/2025 of the agency, the amounts vary:
- Less than 12 hours per week : from $5,547.71 to $6,816.05. An increase of 22.86%.
- Between 12 and less 16 hours : from $8,467.56 to $10,735.77. An increase of 26.88%.
- 16 or more hours : from $17,437.92 to $28,688.55. An increase of 64.52%.
These amounts include contributions for retirement, social security and the ART fee . They are paid on a monthly basis, that is, contributions for January 2025 must be paid in February, before the 10th.
