If the federal government were to collect the potential taxes evaded by fuel smuggling, which amounts to 177,170.3 million pesos, and allocate that resource to lowering the price of gasoline and diesel, it would obtain a reduction of up to 2.83 pesos per liter for the benefit of consumers, estimated the consulting firm PetroIntelligence.
