Palmero announced that they will be importers of Italian SAME tractors throughout the country.

Palmero announced that they will be importers of Italian SAME tractors throughout the country.

At an event held at the Lorca Winery in Perdriel, Joaquín Palmero , the third generation of the family business, hosted clients, friends, and executives of his new partners.

Palmero

Palmero introduced himself as an importer and distributor of SAME.

“Palmero has 78 years of history in the industry and a deep relationship with Mendoza and its agricultural production. That's why we're investing in a long-standing brand to bring solutions to agricultural products across the country, starting with a launch that promises to transform the way we work in the region's vineyards and orchards,” explained Joaquín Palmero in an interview with Los Andes.

“We decided to hold this presentation in the heart of where Palmero was founded in 1947 as an agricultural company. Today, after moving through various sectors, we are returning to the sector with a top-quality offering, such as SAME tractors from the Italian company SDF ,” explained Palmero, who added: “As importers , we offer tractors with top-level engineering and very interesting differentiating features compared to the competition.”

"The message to Cuyo is that we haven't abandoned agriculture. We're here to showcase ourselves as a company that not only sells machinery but also provides after-sales service, where long-term customer relationships are crucial," added Joaquín Palmero.

The proposal involves a family of tractors designed for different types of work, with power ranging from 45 to 120 hp , all from the SAME brand.

The models are aimed at two segments: on the one hand, winegrowers and fruit growers, with a large market in Cuyo and the Litoral region, among others. The other option is open-field tractors for various tasks.

Palmero and SDF, strategic partners

Juan Ignacio Barrenese , Business Area Director for Latam at SDF, represented SAME at the presentation. An Argentine who has lived in Mexico for two years, where the Italian agro-industrial giant opened its regional offices, he clearly explained the synergy: "Palmero is our official importer for all of Argentina of our SAME products, which we have been manufacturing for over 90 years."

In this regard, he explained that SAME will offer "three tractors that are examples of our fruit and vegetable portfolio: two from the same family and a third that is strictly for fruit production, the 80.4, conceived and designed in Italy, manufactured in India, but with a purely European DNA."

Regarding SDF, Barrenese said: “It’s a family company with a presence in more than 150 countries, we have 5,000 global employees, and we manufacture between 50,000 and 60,000 tractors a year in plants across six countries .”

"We are convinced that we have found the right partner for the very long-term business we intend to pursue in Argentina," the SDF representative said of Palmero.

"We saw new potential in Argentina thanks to the ongoing border openings, and based on that, the meeting (with Palmero) was direct, so it was very easy for us to reach an agreement," he added.

In this regard, and regarding SAME products, Barrenese stated: “ We are bringing a product of excellent quality at a fair price ,” while also providing an interesting definition regarding Argentina’s potential as a manufacturer of agricultural machinery: “We do not rule out establishing an industrial base in Argentina, which is a very important producer, as it has the know-how and skilled labor.”

Dealer network and after-sales service

"We are building a nationwide distribution network in stages to provide not only sales support in each province, but also after-sales support. Palmero will be present in certain locations, and official Palmero-SAME distributors will be present in other locations," explained Joaquín Palmero.

In turn, Barrenese explained: “We fully understand the need for rapid responses. We've been in this business for many years, and we understand that,” adding: “The most important thing about the partnership we're launching with Palmero, with almost 80 years of history, is that it's a company that needs no introduction regarding its after-sales service and commitment to its customers.”

Carlos Lassalle , Palmero's corporate director, emphasized what SAME tractors offer to customers: "They are specifically configured to provide producers with maximum work capacity with the best tools."

He also said that Palmero will work to ensure that "the customer will always have the product available."

Finally, Lassalle emphasized: “We understand that investing in agricultural machinery is a strategic step for producers, which is why we offer affordable financing options . We work with banks such as Santander, Galicia, Provincia, BBVA, BICE, and BNA, the latter through its BNA Conecta platform, to offer competitive plans.”
