Tres de Febrero launches its own RIGI, unleashes a war with Kicillof, and challenges the unions.

The electoral war in the province has begun. Tres de Febrero has just voted for the first municipal RIGI in the same province that did not adhere to the regime promoted by the National Government, which basically consists of a tax cut to encourage investment. What's more: with the approval of the Honorable Deliberative Council of that district , a tax stability plan and an anti-blockade mechanism for businesses will also be implemented.

The mayor of Tres de Febrero is Diego Valenzuela , a man who moved from the PRO party to the ranks of La Libertad Avanza (LLA) and who enjoys the trust of Javier Milei . In fact, they are friends and former classmates .

Perhaps that connection led the President to give his blessing to Valenzuela's idea of ​​becoming the first municipality to have its own Investment Generation Incentive Regime .

"With a modern fiscal policy and lower taxes, we attract companies and generate private investment," said Valenzuela.

First, the municipal RIGI (Regional Industrial Property Tax) was announced, which seeks to attract new businesses and boost local economic growth. Industries that establish themselves in Tres de Febrero and invest between $10 and $20 million will be exempt from paying the Health and Safety Inspection Fee (TISH) for one year and will receive a 50% discount for the following nine years . Those already operating in the district will receive the 50% discount for ten years.

Additionally, those who invest more than $20 million will receive a one-year exemption and 14 years with the rate reduced by half. If the industry is already established and invests that amount, the benefit is extended for 15 years. Finally, companies that hire more than 100 employees will enjoy the same benefits. A new tax stability regime was later announced. This establishes a 30-year guarantee that the TISH will not register increases.

Finally, a business anti-blockade system will be implemented . This protects the freedom to work by incorporating sanctions for those who prevent the entry or exit of people, vehicles, and merchandise into a production, commercial, logistics, or service establishment. In the event of a blockade, a violation will be initiated, allowing it to be terminated with the intervention of police forces. It is clear that the measure will not go unnoticed by unions. Tres de Febrero has 1,800 companies.

The province of Buenos Aires does not have a RIGI (Regional Investment Regime), but it does have its Provincial Strategic Investment Regime , a project promoted by Governor Axel Kicillof through the Ministry of Production, Science and Technological Innovation of Buenos Aires, headed by Augusto Costa , which has already been approved by the provincial Senate.

According to the Buenos Aires Province website, this is a tool that aims to stimulate productive investments and, through tax benefits, rewards projects that create quality jobs and generate added value.
