Guillermo Francos defended the decree that appointed Ariel Lijo to the Court with suspicions towards the Senate: "The one who had the most questions obtained the ruling"

Amid the political uproar generated by the appointment by decree of President Javier Milei of Ariel Lijo and Manuel García Mansilla to fill the vacant seats on the Supreme Court, the Chief of Staff, Guillermo Francos, defended the document prepared by the Government and criticized the senators who questioned Lijo , who had obtained a committee opinion to deal with his file.
"The decree is absolutely well-founded. The Government has been proposing the need to complete the Supreme Court since the beginning of its mandate. The request was sent in May and then the process was followed with the regulatory norms of the Senate. Whenever there is a proposal, there are political tugs, but look at the coincidence. Coincidentally, the one who had the most questions (for Lijo) obtained a ruling," said Francos on Radio Rivadavia, taking the contradiction to a level of suspicion.
And he continued: "García Mansilla is an independent jurist and he did not obtain an opinion . So you start to think about what the logic is and the logic is that this is politics."
He was also asked about former President Mauricio Macri's criticism of Lijo for being a member of the Supreme Court. Francos stressed that the PRO leader "has been stating his position from the start" and that "it is not something new."
"I understand that many PRO leaders want to work with us in the election and I think Macri does too. He understands that there is a political space where we agree. He knows that we have to confront Kirchnerism," the Chief of Staff stressed.
