Irma, the murdered teacher and taxi driver, was shown kneeling before a police station in Veracruz.

XALAPA, Veracruz (apro).- Before being found dead, Irma Hernández Cruz, a retired teacher and taxi driver in the municipality of Álamo Temapache, appeared in a video posted on social media, kneeling and surrounded by armed men with her face covered.
In the recording, the victim warns: "Fellow taxi drivers, pay your dues. You don't play with the mafia," in what was apparently a direct threat from organized crime directed at the region's transportation industry.
Irma Hernández, 62, was reported missing on Friday, July 18, after being taken prisoner by an armed group. In addition to her work as a teacher, she operated taxis in northern Veracruz.
Governor Rocío Nahle García confirmed at her press conference on Monday that an investigation was underway and noted that no ransom demands had been reported by the captors.
This Thursday, the State Attorney General's Office (FGE) reported that, following field and office investigations, the victim's body was located.
In a statement, it reported that a multidisciplinary forensic team carried out legal identification procedures and officially notified Irma Hernández Cruz's family. The investigation file was compiled by the Tuxpan Regional Prosecutor's Office, which will continue its efforts to identify and locate those responsible.
