No external batteries, no generators: there is a much better device that we should all have at home.

The digitalization of more and more aspects of our lives consequently means that we are increasingly dependent on technology and require it for all kinds of tasks and activities.

This makes us think and almost live by technology, but events like the massive blackout that hit Spain on April 28th show us how vulnerable we are because of it . We were certainly lucky that power was restored across virtually the entire peninsula before nightfall, mainly because of the batteries in our devices, especially our cell phones.

For this reason, many people have since opted to purchase external batteries or even power generators , as the fear of something similar happening again and running out of battery power has permeated society. However, while these devices are very useful, experts are pointing out that this is not the device we should have, but another one.

In times of real energy need, the product everyone should have at home is actually a solar charger. While no one wants something similar to the blackout at the end of April to happen again, there's always the possibility that something similar could happen, and this option is the most reliable on the market, as it will never run out.

It's true that they're more expensive than other alternatives we've mentioned, such as a power bank. However, they only require sunlight to charge, making them an endless source of energy.

• Compatibility: Make sure the solar charger is compatible with the voltage and current of your devices.
• Output Power (Watts) : The more watts (W), the faster your devices will charge. Prioritize higher wattage for power-hungry devices.
• Panel efficiency: Look for solar panels with high efficiency (more than 20%), preferably monocrystalline silicon, for better conversion of sunlight into electricity.
• Internal Battery Capacity (mAh/Wh) : If a battery is included, the higher the capacity, the more charges you can store and use when the sun is not shining.
• Solar charging time: Find out how long it takes for the charger to fully charge in direct sunlight.
• Additional Features : Look for useful extras like an LED flashlight, multiple output ports, or LED charging indicators.
