Vodafone secures a 4.7 million euro contract with the Consell de Mallorca

Vodafone Spain has been awarded a contract by the Island Council of Mallorca to provide telecommunications services to three entities: the Island Council itself, the Mallorcan Institute of Social Affairs (IMAS), and the Equestrian Institute of Mallorca. The Island Council is a regional and local body responsible for providing financial assistance to Mallorcan municipalities, land use planning, historical heritage, social services, leisure and tourism, as well as environmental and waste management, among others. The base budget amounts to €4.76 million (excluding taxes), making it one of the largest budgets of the year for the island administration.

The objective of the contract is to modernize and unify the telecommunications infrastructure. The services Vodafone will provide include high-capacity internet access to guarantee connectivity at all institutional locations. The provision of secure data networks using MPLS, VPN, and other systems to ensure interoperability between work centers. Network and Wi-Fi equipment with the evolution of all equipment to the latest technologies. The company will also provide 24/7 support and maintenance services, with guaranteed service levels and defined response times.

For Jesús Suso, director of Vodafone Business, the contract means that "the Consell de Mallorca has entrusted Vodafone to lead a strategic project that reaffirms our commitment to the digitalization of the public sector and the provision of top-quality telecommunications services. Our goal is to provide the island's institutions with a modern, secure infrastructure that is ready for the technological challenges of the future and for any eventuality."
