Swedish women's football team wins European Championship group after beating Germany

Sweden's women's football team reached the quarterfinals of the European Championship in Switzerland after winning three matches as group winners. In Zurich, coached by Peter Gerhardsson, the team defeated Germany 4-1, who had already secured a place in the last eight after two victories.
Jule Brand opened the scoring for Germany with a roller, but Stina Blackstenius equalized five minutes later with a shot, also into the far left corner. Sweden then took the lead through a shot from Germany's Sarai Linder, which found the net via Sweden's Smilla Holmberg. On Sweden's next quick counter-attack, Carlotta Wamser handled a shot to save it. The German was sent off, and Fridolina Rolfö converted the penalty. Lina Hurtig made it 4-1 in the second half.
The Swedish women's team will play in the quarterfinals against the runners-up from the group consisting of the Netherlands, England, France, and Wales. Germany will face the group winner from the Dutch team's group.
