The President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda, by resolutions of 22 April 2025, appointed fourteen officers of the Polish Army, two officers of the Border Guard and four officers of the State Fire Service to the rank of general. Among them is Colonel Robert Matysek, who for eight years was associated with military units in Przemyśl and Jarosław.

The Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz submitted applications for promotions to the President of the Republic of Poland. Three former division generals were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General of the Polish Army. Two former brigadier generals were promoted to the rank of division general of the Polish Army, while nine former colonels were promoted to the rank of brigadier general of the Polish Army. Among them was the aforementioned Colonel Robert Matysek, who has been the commander of the 1st Masurian Artillery Brigade in Węgorzewo since January 29th...
