Dispute over ambassadors. Andrzej Duda: We cooperate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

- There is an agreement on the nomination of several dozen new Polish ambassadors - Andrzej Duda said. The president said on Polsat News that the Presidential Palace is cooperating with Radosław Sikorski on this matter. The dispute over the nomination of diplomats has been going on since last year.
Since March last year, there has been a conflict between the Presidential Palace and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs over Polish ambassadors. At that time, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorki, decided to end the mission of over 50 ambassadors. He pointed out that as the new head of diplomacy, he has the right to choose his associates and diplomatic staff, and the President of the Republic of Poland - in accordance with the Constitution - implements the foreign policy created by the government.
In turn, President Andrzej Duda, also referring to the Constitution, pointed to the need for his countersignature to the decision of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Andrzej Duda: We are cooperating with Minister Sikorski- There is an agreement on this matter - Andrzej Duda said in the "Gość Wydarzeń" program. - Since the Minister of Foreign Affairs is restoring the standard procedure that has always been there, which begins with the initial acceptance of the candidacy by the president, then I am of course ready to conduct these procedures - he said.

When asked whether the Presidential Palace cooperates with Minister Sikorski, the president replied: - Yes.
- Minister Sikorski knows several candidates, about which I have reservations, justified. There are several dozen candidates in total and I have no reservations about the absolute majority of them. As soon as we have the complete set of documents, it will be implemented - the president announced.
- The government returned to the normal fair and reliable procedure that has always been followed, which it wanted to break - he added.
