Miraculously, he survived and is now looking for a home. Buzz, a 20-year-old cat, was rescued by the RSPCA

When he came into the care of the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) in Goole, England, he was in a terrible state. His matted fur, covered in feces, was initially thought to be tumours. However, it was later discovered that he had been severely neglected. Weakened and devastated, Buzz and his story of recovery became a symbol of the fight for life.
Thanks to the loving care and support of donors who donated over £500 towards his treatment, which included tooth extraction, blood tests and medication, Buzz is now slowly recovering. Vets have dressed and stitched up his wounds, and he has been treated for chronic arthritis and hyperthyroidism, which are common conditions in many senior cats.
20-Year-Old Cat Rescued, Recovering and RecoveringAs Georgina Petty from the RSPCA stressed, Buzz has an amazing spirit, although his body sometimes can't keep up. Due to his age and condition, recovery wasn't easy. However, his eyesight improved, the cat gained weight and his striped fur started to grow back.
Buzz was first registered with the shelter as a young cat in 2005. He was adopted at the time. He was rehomed about a decade ago, but his microchip was never updated. It is believed that he was fed for some time by a power plant employee.
New home wanted for BuzzThe RSPCA is currently looking for a quiet, homeless place for Buzz to spend his old age.
Ideally, the new home would be near Goole, which would allow for regular visits to the vet. All costs for his treatment, medication and food will be covered by the facility.
