Pilchowo to be modernized. Over 30 million PLN in water.

The reconstruction of the Pilchowo Water Production Plant is underway. The 100-year-old facility will be modernized. The contractor has two years to complete the project. Throughout the project, they must ensure uninterrupted water supply to residents. The investment cost is nearly PLN 31 million.
The Pilchów Water Production Plant is one of six operated by the Szczecin Water and Sewage Plant. It is responsible for supplying approximately 14% of the water for Szczecin residents, particularly the northern-west neighborhoods.
Residents are not supposed to feel at all that ZPW "Pilchowo" is undergoing such a serious investment.
"The water supply from here will not be threatened at any time, and its quality will certainly be maintained," Łukasz Kadłubowski, Deputy Mayor of Szczecin, announced at Wednesday's press conference, marking the signing of the contract with the investment contractor. "This two-year, design-build investment will not deteriorate during the implementation phase, and will even improve the water quality in the future."
It has been noticed that some residents already claim that the so-called Pilchowianka is the tastiest water in the city.
"The modernization will include, among other things, rebuilding the entire water treatment system, repairing the water treatment equipment, as well as renovating the building and renovating the surrounding area," Rafał Terlecki, Vice President of the Szczecin Water and Sewage Plant, outlines the scope of work. "The investment is complex because it will be carried out while the water intake is operating continuously. Therefore, it will be necessary to provide a replacement water treatment plant for the duration of the work inside the building."
The facility in Pilchów has a rich history – its construction began in 1927 and it opened two years later. Many of its historical elements have survived to this day and will be preserved.
"The historic floors, cladding, and walls will be preserved," assured Mariusz Patek, Technical Director of the Water and Sewage Company. "Some historical features will also be displayed."©℗

Such a significant investment, and a budget of only 30 million. Meanwhile, rebuilding just a small street in Szczecin can cost several times more.
