The search for the 16-year-old in Dziwnówek was first resumed and then ended.

In Dziwnówek on Tuesday (July 29), the search for a 16-year-old from Greater Poland who disappeared underwater on Monday was resumed and then concluded. Operations were conducted only from land due to strong winds and waves.
On Monday, July 28, at approximately 6 p.m., the teenager and his brother entered the sea, despite a red flag being displayed. Both began to drown. One boy managed to reach shore. The other disappeared underwater.
Rescue efforts were immediately initiated, and lifelines were established. However, they were unsuccessful. Weather conditions were extremely difficult. Even a Maritime Search and Rescue (SAR) boat was capsized by strong waves. Rescuers fell into the water. A second SAR boat from Świnoujście was dispatched to the scene. The search for the teenager was suspended on Monday at approximately 8:30 PM and resumed on Tuesday morning.
"Police officers, WOPR rescuers, and firefighters are combing the shoreline," Katarzyna Jasion from the District Police Headquarters in Kamień Pomorski reported live. "The operations are being conducted only from land, as conditions are unfavorable at sea, with high waves and strong winds."
By Tuesday morning, however, the search had been completely ended. The 16-year-old was declared missing.
The boys, who were in foster care, formally brothers but not related, were vacationing by the sea with their parents.
In the summer season of 2025, from April 1 to the end of July, 8 drownings were recorded in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, and there were 114 such cases in Poland.
