Budimex is increasing its presence in foreign markets, focusing on large contracts.

- Budimex's goal is for foreign contracts to account for approximately 20 percent of consolidated revenues within the next few years.
- An important direction of development is the company's participation in the international consortium implementing the Rail Baltica project.
- Budimex currently uses the green energy it produces for its own needs.
How can you assess the involvement of Budimex Group companies in the implementation of foreign contracts?
Budimex has been consistently expanding its presence in foreign markets for over three years. Poland remains our priority market , but the share of revenue from contracts implemented abroad is steadily growing, increasing its importance in the Group's overall portfolio.
Our goal is for these to account for approximately 20% of total revenues within the next few years. We are focusing on large infrastructure contracts – projects in Germany, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia are of key importance to us.
Another important development direction is Budimex's participation in the international consortium responsible for the implementation of Rail Baltica – a strategic railway investment in the Baltic States.
Can the current level of foreign contracts in the portfolio be assessed as satisfactory?
Budimex's foreign contracts have already reached a value of approximately PLN 2 billion in its current portfolio, and nearly PLN 5 billion in the so-called "waiting room." Our competitive advantage lies in our strategic and long-term approach to these markets – we won our first tenders there and are successfully implementing all contracts. Each market we operate in has its own unique characteristics.
The rules for the implementation of large contracts are similar to the standards in force in PolandThe principles for implementing large contracts are similar to those in force in Poland. Rail Baltica operates in Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia under completely different rules. Each country organizes tenders and work orders differently. The technical acceptance of individual stages of the work, as well as the billing process, also differs.
Within the Budimex Group, which segment is developing the fastest and can be the proverbial flywheel?
In the coming period, the implementation of large railway contracts will have a significant impact on the structure and dynamics of the Budimex Group's revenues. A key example is the modernization of the LK104 Podłęże–Piekiełko line , where we completed the first of several sections entrusted to us on time, and we are currently building the longest railway tunnel in Poland.
At the same time, we see significant growth potential in the energy sector – both in grid development and modernization, and in the construction of a nuclear power plant. These projects will significantly boost construction and assembly production, and Budimex Group companies are fully qualified to implement these projects as general contractors. We are well advanced in preparations for the commencement of construction of a nuclear power plant, planned for 2026.
In its commentary on its half-year results, the company announced that it is allocating significant funds to investments related to the development of renewable energy sources. What does this mean?
I would like to emphasize that Budimex has been strongly focused on diversifying its operations for several years now. One of its companies, BXF Energia, is engaged in renewable energy sources. If the new legislative solutions finally come into force, they will enable us to significantly increase our involvement in the renewable energy sector.
We currently have approximately 100 MW of installed capacity, and we have projects in the pipeline totaling hundreds of megawatts more, for which connection applications have already been submitted to energy system operators. We are awaiting decisions regarding grid connection permits and are ready to begin new investments immediately.
The BXF Energia portfolio includes renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 2 GWBXF Energia's portfolio currently includes projects at various stages of development with a total capacity of 2 GW, providing a solid foundation for further expansion in the renewable energy sector. Currently, all of the energy we generate is not yet for resale – not yet.
We use it for our own needs, which gradually makes our operations increasingly sustainable and "green." We also have our own network of electric car chargers, allowing us to build complete synergy – from energy production to its distribution and sale.
Our diversification strategy includes expanding our development business, investing in the data center sector, and renewable energy projects. These are key areas that complement the construction segment and, in the long term, will further enhance the sustainability and stability of the Budimex Group's operations.
