Acting for the health of the Portuguese people and for the viability of the NHS

The numbers reflect an increase in the number of people without a family doctor, with an increase of around 42 thousand compared to December.
At the end of last week, data regarding the coverage of family doctors in the country, data from January, was released. The figures reflect an increase in the number of people without a family doctor, with an increase of around 42 thousand compared to December, meaning that more than 1,564,000 people are without medical assistance. Regardless of the various reasons that led to these figures growing so significantly, there can be no doubt that much could have been done to reverse this trend, from political interventions that should anticipate solutions that would mitigate it, where health should be strategic for the future of a society that wants to be productive and capable of bringing wealth and evolution, to the recognition that there are other health professionals with skills and knowledge that could and should be used to avoid the complete absence of care responses, as is the case of Nurses and others.
