Albergaria-a-Velha invites you to observe the crescent moon tomorrow night

As part of the “Ciência Viva em Rede no Verão 2025” project, coordinated by Fábrica Centro Ciência Viva de Aveiro, Albergaria-a-Velha will host the now-regular “Astronomy with FISUA” session tomorrow evening, starting at 10 pm, at Parque da Mobilidade, next to the municipal swimming pool.
The activity, which is free to participate in, is supported by the city council. According to a press release received by our newspaper, José Matos, from the Physics Association of the University of Aveiro (FISUA), will lead the nighttime observation session, revealing curiosities, legends, and superstitions about the moon. In addition to an optical telescope, there will be a digital telescope for photographing the sky, which also allows for the observation of more diffuse celestial bodies, such as nebulae and star clusters. It should be noted that the municipality of Albergaria, through the Municipal Education Agenda, promotes science and astronomy sessions in primary schools, where children are encouraged to study experimental science, as well as to gain knowledge of the phenomena of the universe.
In the "Astronomy with FISUA" activity, young children can bring their families and demonstrate the knowledge they acquired at school, as José Matos is always attentive to the young participants, proposing a fun review of the "material given."
