BCP received secured credit applications worth 600 million euros
BCP received 3,250 applications for housing loans made under the public guarantee scheme to support young people in purchasing their first home. These applications total 600 million euros.
The figures were revealed by the CEO at Millennium's results presentation. According to Miguel Maya, Lisbon and Porto are, unsurprisingly, the areas with the most requests. Of that total, around 1,600 proposals have already been submitted, with a total of 461 proposals already contracted or in the final stages of contracting, worth a combined 88 million euros, corresponding to 7% of BCP's share.
"If we counted all the requests, we would be above 50%", explained the CEO. Miguel Maya assured that BCP "is very committed and interested" in young people coming to the bank for this purpose.
BCP's share in the measure is 185 million euros. This amount corresponds to a maximum of 15% of the loans granted. If the quota is used up, it will be equivalent to a total loan of over 1.2 billion euros.
