Local elections: Ricardo Viegas is the head of the Livre party's list for Conceição de Faro

He spent part of his childhood in Conceição, his father's hometown, where he attended the old primary school. With a degree in Graphic Design from IADE, he began his career in Lisbon in 2001. Shortly thereafter, he returned to the Algarve, where he worked as a designer in studios in Faro, Albufeira, and Portimão.
In 2011, he moved to London in search of new challenges, deepening his experience in Exhibition Design, Web Design, and Creative Direction. In 2017, he took on the role of Creative Director at an agency in Knutsford, near Manchester, where he developed a particular interest in communication in the public and private education sector.
In 2019, he returned to the Algarve and settled in Conceição de Faro, where he continues to work in web design for the education sector in the United Kingdom and on international projects.
Outside of his professional life, Ricardo is passionate about the sea and the Ria Formosa. He is a member of the Portuguese Spearfishing and Freediving Association and a member of the Portuguese Federation of Underwater Activities, as well as a motorcycle enthusiast. He became a member of LIVRE in 2021.
Regarding his priorities for the parish, the candidate is clear: "In the next four years, it is essential to improve mobility between Conceição and Faro, ensure safe conditions on the Penha road and the N2, protect students, the elderly, and workers who travel daily on foot or by bicycle on routes with high accident rates, and strengthen public transportation serving the parish," he points out.
Ricardo Viegas also advocates for a more participatory and inclusive parish: "Who better than the residents to identify local problems? We need to create ways for everyone to contribute: participatory budgets, citizen assemblies, or digital applications that bring people closer to decision-making. I believe in a parish capable of improving access, protecting nature, and strengthening community life, returning the village to the people and associations, restoring lives and culture."
Finally, he leaves a message of unity: "My candidacy is, above all, a collective project. Only with the help, ideas, and strength of everyone can we solve the challenges facing our parish and our city."
It should be remembered that the Livre party also presented Adriana Marques Silva as head of the list for the Faro City Council, Rodrigo Teixeira for the Municipal Assembly and Pedro Mesquita as representative.
It also presents two other candidacies for the Parish Assemblies: Faro (Pedro Leitão/Inês Neto) and Montenegro (Adriana Silva/ Paulo Penisga).
Please note that the local elections will take place on October 12th.
