Monchique bets on new summer programming for the new natural amphitheatre

Monchique bets on new summer programming for the new natural amphitheatre

This summer, Monchique offers a programme where culture, sport and music will provide moments of fun and leisure for those visiting the municipality.

With the new natural amphitheatre, located in the town park, comes a new summer programme, which promises to provide “pleasant evenings”, according to the local authority.

Fado, cinema, DJs and jazz, local festivals and popular parties, sports, crafts and books. Three months of activities, all of which are worth enjoying to the fullest.

One of the highlights is the 4th edition of the “Noites no Mirante” Festival, which takes place on the 8th and 9th of August, at Largo de S. Sebastião in Monchique.

These are two days of celebration, where music and gastronomy will be combined, in a fusion of sounds, styles and environments.

The festival kicks off with a Tribute to Queen, with a concert scheduled for 8:30 pm, followed by Richie Campbell, one of the main names on the bill, with a concert scheduled for 10 pm, followed by Karetus at 11:45 pm.

On the second day, Tributo a Amy Winehouse, Clã and the M80 party will take to the stage, once again at the festival, but with a different performance to close this edition.

To combine this atmosphere, the event also provides an area with taverns serving local food and lots of entertainment!

Considering all the summer festivals that take place throughout the country, the “Noites no Mirante” Festival stands out for its natural scenery, particularly that of the Monchique mountains, which will give the event a different atmosphere.

With free entry, this festival promises to stand out from all the others, due to the musical proposals it brings together and the diverse offering for different musical tastes.

Monchique City Council «invites you to participate and discover, escaping the traditional beach and sun holidays and typical summer festivals, as is the case of Monchique with its very own local cuisine, the famous medronho, the different sausages, ham, honey and sweets».

The complete program is available for consultation on the municipality's official website .
