Nine neighborhoods are expected to be without water this Thursday in Porto Alegre

At least nine neighborhoods will have their water supply interrupted due to works scheduled by the Municipal Department of Water and Sewage (Dmae) .
According to the city government, the service consists of replacing suction valves in the motors of the Treated Water Pumping Station (Ebat) Moinhos de Vento , which may impact the water supply in parts of the neighborhoods of Auxiliadora, Bom Fim, Rio Branco, Bela Vista, Independência, Jardim Botânico, Moinhos de Vento, Mont'Serrat and Petrópolis . The water should be restored at night, but may take a little longer in higher and more distant areas.
Agendas may be subject to change for technical or weather reasons. The progress of the work will be updated in real time on Dmae's social media channels.
Water return
After longer periods of interruption, the water may change color and taste. This phenomenon is caused by the entrainment of microparticles that are not harmful to health and may be on the internal walls of the pipes. If it takes a long time to return to normal, the customer can request that the network and the domestic branch be flushed through System 156.
