Nvidia revenue soars nearly 80%, beating forecasts

Nvidia Corp.'s revenue soared 78% to $39.33 billion in the latest quarter, the tech giant said on Wednesday in its earnings call. Analysts polled by Bloomberg had expected sales of $38.25 billion.

Adjusted earnings per share also came in above expectations, coming in at $0.89, versus forecasts of $0.84.

Revenue from data centers, the chip company's core business that has driven the recent surge in artificial intelligence, nearly doubled to $35.6 billion, versus forecasts of $34.09 billion.
