“The investigation, led by the PJ Center Directorate, originated from a complaint filed by the mother with the PJ, after the victim, currently 15 years old, confessed to the abuse she was subjected to,” the note adds.

According to the criminal investigation police, during the investigation “it was possible to determine that the sexual abuse began to occur in a foreign country, where both the victim and the aggressor are from, and resumed in the summer of 2024, when the victim came to live in Portugal”.

“Taking advantage of his ascendancy and exploiting the minor’s vulnerability, the suspect subjected her, over the years, to the practice of significant sexual acts,” the note reads.

The detainee was brought before the first judicial interrogation and was given the most serious coercive measure of preventive detention.
