Porta 65 applications still unanswered. Housing Portal inaccessible

The Minister of Youth and Modernization, Margarida Balseiro Lopes, signaled this Wednesday that the Government is “monitoring” the delay in granting support under the Porta 65 Program in order to “resolve” the problem “as quickly as possible”.
The minister was responding to the PS deputy and former Housing Minister Marina Gonçalves who, during a hearing in the Budget, Finance and Public Administration Committee, criticised the Government for not providing support from Programme 65 since September. “It is true that the support is retroactive”, said the former minister, noting, however, that this is an “unparalleled delay”.
“I am talking about a measure announced to simplify the response to citizens and that, since September, what we have is a group of citizens who applied and are not receiving support, when previously they had received it two or three months after applying”, stressed the PS deputy, also highlighting the fact that the Housing Portal , the website where applications are made under Programme 65 and their results are published, has been “inaccessible for a week”.
Indeed, this is the case. “Service temporarily unavailable. We are carrying out scheduled maintenance. Please try again later”, is the message that can be read in Portuguese, English and French when trying to access the Housing Portal.
It should be remembered that the reformulation of Porta 65 Jovem came into force on September 1, 2024. With the new rules, the Government wanted to extend the scope to a larger universe of young people, allowing applications aged 35 or under, eliminating the requirement for a contract and no longer requiring maximum income to be an exclusion criterion .
